Crayon Rocks were invented by Barbara Lee, a special education teacher who saw a need to help young children, especially those with developmental disabilities, grow and train their tripod grip muscles so that writing would be easy and art would be fun. The perfect rock fell into her hands while potting a plant. It can only be gripped and used with those all important three fingers: thumb, first and second. 

The colors are vibrant, easy to apply, and ALMOST as rich as oil pastels. Beautiful color that goes on paper with easy broad strokes. They are designed to strengthen the tripod grip muscles, preparing fingers and hands for handwriting. Perfect for the artist of all ages and abilities, Crayon Rocks are SOY much fun to use and look cool too!
